Project Overview
Our client desired a platform to facilitate integration of communication and business operations. To achieve this,we participated in the definition of a consolidated Intranet Strategy. This endeavor identified the following objectives:
- Standardize and achieve a consistent look and feel for the organization's intranet
- Reduce duplicate information published across the intranet
- Create standard processes for the work done on the intranet
- Establish a technical framework that will support these objectives and be positioned to support future requirements
Solution
To support these objectives, we were a key participant in discovery activities that followed with selection and deployment of a business-to-employee workplace integration portal.
During this endeavor we:
- Conducted requirements sessions with focus groups throughout the organization.
- Assisted in developing a business case.
- Conducted an Infrastructure Assessment to discern assets to leverage.
- Led the selection process, assembling a team to identify and prioritize criteria.
- Conducted a "proof of concept", which consisted of exercising anticipated scenarios through chosen vendor's products.
- Organized a final recommendation based on proof of concept results.
- Assisted in procurement of Hardware, Software and Services.
- Participated in installation, configuration of chosen software.
- Identified targets for iterative deployments.
- Determined requirements for each target area.
- Developed, configured components.
- Conducted knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Conducted Load and Stress Tests
- Produced and tested a Disaster-Recovery Plan.
