A full line saftey distributor

Project Overview

Our client, a Full Line Safety Distributor specializing in Gas monitors and Confined Space Equipment, was experiencing lost revenue opportunities as a result of an out dated and inefficient rental equipment business process. Their manual process worked well until they experienced rapid growth spurred by the resurgence of Northwest Indiana Industrial expansion.

The client desired a stand-alone solution that they could maintain on an ongoing basis. Their request included the requirement that that application be created using Microsoft Access/2000.

Solution

We reviewed the clients rental equipment business process and produced an iterative build plan to identify additional requirements while providing them the opportunity to start data conversion tasks.

Build One provided a stable data model, prototype of the Rental Scheduling subsystem, and and administrative subsystem to permit them to begin data entry and database maintenance tasks.

Build Two provided a final release of the Rental Scheduling subsystem, and a first-cut of scheduling history and maintenance reports.

The Final Build provided tweaks and enhancements to components released during the first two builds as well as a final release of the reporting subsystem.

Technologies used to complete these objectives were:

  • Microsoft Access/2000
  • Visual Basic for Applications
